Kultregisseur Uwe Boll ist zurück mit einem Werk, das wohl zu seinen anspruchsvollsten zählt. Weit entfernt von den schweren Fantasy oder Actionfilmen, die seinen Stil geprägt haben, wagt sich Boll an eines der komplexesten Themen unserer Zeit heran: Migration. Als eine Gruppe von Migranten aus Afrika in einer kleinen Stadt in Italien ankommt, bricht die Hölle los, denn die Migranten kämpfen ums Überleben an einem Ort, der sich trotz seiner Verantwortung für ihre Situation weigert, ihnen zu helfen. Der Film folgt einer bunten Gruppe von Charakteren und schafft ein immersives Erlebnis, in dem verschiedene Probleme diskutiert werden, von der Absurdität der Bürokratie über Korruption innerhalb des Rechtssystems bis hin zu konservativen Fanatikern, die versuchen, „Gerechtigkeit“ in ihre eigenen Hände zu nehmen, was zu einem brutalen und sicherlich blutigen Ende führt. Das Ergebnis ist ein Film, der eine ganz neue Sichtweise auf dieses Thema eröffnet.

Cult filmmaker Uwe Boll is back with what might be one of his most challenging works. Far from the heavy fantasy or action that defined his style, Boll brings a daring, gut-punching take in one of the most complex subjects nowadays: migration. When a group of migrants arrive from Africa to a small city in Italy, all hell breaks loose as the migrants fight for survival in a place that, despite its responsability on their situation, refuses to help them. Following a varied group of characters, the film creates an immersive experience in which several problems are discussed, from the absudity of bureucreacy to corruption within the legal system, to even conservative fanatics trying to take „justice“ in their own hands, all leading to a brutal and certainly bloody conclusion. The result is a film that will bring a whole new vision on this subject.
